TattWise Privacy Policy

This policy explains how TattWise collects, uses, shares, and retains information when you use our website and marketplace.

Information we collect

We collect account details such as name, screen name, email, phone, role, ZIP code, optional street address, authentication records, and legal acceptance records. Artist and studio accounts may provide business contact information, licensing details, portfolios, links, studio addresses, and professional information. We also collect projects, bids, messages, reviews, affiliations, design requests, cancellations, reports, notification preferences, and technical security logs.

Location information

ZIP codes support general area searches. If you provide an exact address, TattWise may convert it into geographic coordinates to calculate distance. Customer street addresses and stored coordinates are not displayed publicly. Exact coordinates are returned only as calculated distance results.

How we use information

We use information to create accounts, operate listings and bidding, rank and filter results, enable matched communications, send important notifications, prevent fraud and duplicate accounts, enforce limits, moderate content, resolve disputes, maintain reputation history, improve the service, and comply with law.

How information is shared

Artist and studio business profiles are public. Customer projects show a screen name and project details, not the customer's legal name or direct contact information. A selected artist may receive the matched customer details needed to continue the project. We share data with hosting, database, email, security, analytics, and other processors acting for TattWise; with authorities when legally required; and in a business transfer. We do not sell private customer contact details.

Email choices

Important service emails include bids, nearby project alerts, studio affiliation activity, unread messages, and account notices. Settings may allow you to reduce optional notifications. Marketing messages include an unsubscribe method; unsubscribing from marketing does not stop essential account or transaction emails.

Retention and safety

We retain information as long as reasonably needed for the service, legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and enforcement. Closing an account does not necessarily erase reviews, completed transaction history, disciplinary records, or identifiers needed to prevent ban evasion. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online system is completely secure.

Your choices

You may update profile and notification settings in your account. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, or deletion of eligible personal information by contacting support@tattwise.com. We may verify your identity and retain information where legally permitted or required. See our Data Deletion Instructions for account-closure help.

Age restriction and changes

TattWise is for adults age 18 or older and is not directed to children. We may update this policy and will announce material changes through the service or by email. Privacy questions may be sent to support@tattwise.com.
